I am many things: a clinical psychologist, a meditation teacher, a wife of 47 years, a step mother, a grandmother, a gardener, a photographer and a life-long student. I have had a thirty year private psychotherapy practice in my home town of Charlottesville, Virginia. Shortly after beginning my professional career, I discovered Vipassana meditation which I have been practicing since 1985, with a special and passionate interest in the relationships between meditation practice, psychotherapy and spiritual discovery and growth. I am a co-founder and guiding teacher of the Insight Meditation Community of Charlottesville, a vibrant local practice community. I also am a senior teacher of the relational meditation practice of Insight Dialogue. I have led workshops and retreats on meditation and its integration with psychotherapy, both nationally and internationally, for over 20 years. I continue to return to my Virginia home where I live with my husband and our two very spoiled cats.
My wish, my intention, for these pages is that they provide windows for us, together, to see clearly in all of our days. May we all know the relative freedom from suffering that psychotherapy can offer and, with this as a base, may we each discover the ultimate freedom for which, and in which, we were born.
